Renewing an SSL Certificate Instructions
Renewing SSL certificates is easy; just follow the basic instructions below to renew your certificate.
Note: Certificates can be renewed up to 90 days before expiration.
STEP 1: Generate a new CSR on your server. Keep .key and csr file in safe place.
STEP 2: Log into your client area, https://client.citeglobe.ca/clientarea.php
STEP 3: In the blue navigation bar, go to "Services", sub-menu "Order New services". In the left column, choose "SSL Certificate". Choose the right SSl Certificate, and purchase it.
STEP 4: In your client area, in the menu "Services", Complete the certificate renewal request.
After you complete the renewal request, the Certificate Authority will perform a quick cross-check verification. If your organization's information is changed in the CSR, you
may need to provide more information to verify the changes.
STEP 5: Once approved, the renewed certificate is sent to the certificate contact in an email. You can also download the renewed certificate in your client area.
STEP 6: On your server, install and configure the new certificate. We recommend that you make sure that your certificate is installed and configured properly before your old certificate. This way is a problem with your new certificate.
STEP 7: Once you've successfully registered, you can get your old certificate. It's a good idea to create a backup of the certificate before you remove it as a precaution. Note that we do not recommend removing the original system-generated self-signed certificate. This can cause you to become unstable (especially with Windows servers).
